Conditioning Sessions
for Runners
We now offer weekly group conditioning sessions specifically for runners aimed at improving how you move, your general conditioning as well as your relative strength levels geared to helping you become more resilient to injury and ultimately improve your running.
Currently we offer sessions on:
Tuesday (11.45-12.45 & 13.00-14.00) and
Thursday lunch (11.45-12.45 & 13.00-14.00) at the Valour Fitness training studio, in Rouge Rue, St Peter Port.
Sessions are held in small groups (approx. 5-6 people) over 1 hour weekly slots and are held as part of 6 to 8 week blocks, usually with a week off between these blocks. Anyone new to our S&C groups will need to complete a one-to-one movement screen which will also include some baseline bodyweight strength tests prior to joining. This is so we can best identify individual needs & requirements as well as provide you with some markers from which to monitor your progress. Ultimately knowing this information will allow the appropriate exercise selection and what needs to be prioritised for you. Regular sessions will be geared to addressing and developing any relevant limitations and indeed develop better strength levels (relevant to running) and those who continue with the sessions via subsequent session blocks will also be able to monitor progress in line with some of the markers identified from the outset or as part of sporadic re-testing.
