Group Sessions
Group sessions are planned and organised by Great Britain & Guernsey International distance runner Lee Merrien but we have a great team of coaches too. Fellow Olympian and European 2006 European marathon champion Ulrike Maisch, local running stalwart Paul Ingrouille who has over 40years organising runner events, sessions and coaching and also Nicole Steele-Moore who has been assisting Lee Merrien Running since it’s inception in 2009.
All our sessions follow a format which contains both general and running specific warmup exercises to aid with enhance mobility, prevent injury and improve technique. This is followed by the main running component which is often interval, fartlek or tempo running orientated. Our ‘Next Level’ groups however will often have different training session dependant on goals where-as our Newcomers – LMR@6 group or our Get into Running groups will be less so as often people will have a common shared goal as part of their training. Group sizes are also limited to ensure a healthy runner to coach ratio at sessions. Places are at our groups are allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please note you should check availability before signing up.

Training is different every week and we also provide all our Next Level-group members with access to our ‘members area’ which contains a host of other information to help enhance your training at both our groups and outside of training too. Furthermore once a member you will also receive regular advanced communications about the weekly training with details of the forthcoming training specifics (so you know in advance what to expect) as well as details about other events and information all running related.
